Gown Care F.A.Q.s

  • I’m always hesitant to recommend dry cleaners. Former clients have had some bad experiences with their dresses being damaged at the cleaners. If your gown doesn’t have any dirty spots— it was just worn for a day— you don’t have to clean it.

  • You can spot clean as needed. If you’re worried about gross parts like the pits or bodice that had extended body contact, you can spritz those areas with cheap vodka and let it air dry in a room with nice air circulation (like by an open window).

  • I don’t! All you need to do to is store your gown carefully folded with acid-free tissue paper in a breathable box. Avoid putting that box in a basement or attic.
